Describe for your peers what the study was testing, how the testing was accomplished, the statistical method(s) for doing so, and broadly what the findings were. More specifically, identify the meaningful p-values (probability values) and effect sizes (strength of relationships/effects) that the study obtained. Talk about what those values mean from a quantitative and qualitative standpoint. Choose one description provided by a peer and propose a future quantitative research question based on the findings from their study.

This assignment meets the following Course Learning Outcomes:

Please share with your peers one of the client centered or person centered videos you have watched. Give us a brief overview of the client and the therapist. Then discuss the change process that occurred. Talk about the relationship or the theory as you watched it in action. Work from notes that you took during the video. Were there moments that surprised you? How does change occur according to this theory? Be sure that your first post is scholarly, several paragraphs long, with references well integrated into the post. Use outside references as well as our text books.
Have fun!!

The person-centered video I watched was a conversation between Dr. Scott Miller and a client, Laurie. Use ALL the links provided Each week, you will write a reflection that include how the readings:
a) Relate to your personal experiences, attitudes, and philosophies
b) Inform your evolving projects; and
c) Raise questions and issues you would like to discuss further.
In your reflections, you need to draw connections between the readings and your own experiences, and consider the ways in which your responses to the texts are influenced by your previous coursework, work experience, epistemological leanings, racial, national/ethnic/linguistic/gender identities, etc. I encourage you to draw from the readings in your current and previous courses to make connections across disciplines.

5-7 pages + works cited page and an abstract
Within the body of the paper please address the counseling approach making sure to cover its view of human nature, specific techniques, and role of the client and counselor. This section should be approximately 3-4 pages.
The second section of the paper is reserved for your response to the counseling approach. What did you think of the approach? What population is it best suited for? Do you think it is effective? What does the research say on its effectiveness? Do you feel that it is appropriate for treating addictive disorders? Why or why not? This section should be 2-3 pages.
The paper should focus on how substance abuse and addiction affects and impacts the individual user and the family and should clearly address and present understanding of the following:
1. General progression of substance use in the individual;
2. General progression of substance use impact on the family;
3. Family issues specific to substance use (think about enabling and such issues);
4. Family dynamics that interfere with treatment and recovery;
5. Individual and family treatment considerations; and,
6. Effective components of individual and family treatment.
There are two different discussions and they are highlighted in yellow. The chapters for the course are attached as well to use for the citations. You're to reply to each of the discussions with a minimum of 200 words which is why I've ordered 2 pages, one page for each discussion.
