*I will be applying to Steinherdt, my current major is education (childhood education)
*My academic interest: Learning the diverse culture, language and the way children behave in different

environments; I’m learning Chinese to keep myself up to date; kids inspire me- I will be teaching them but really

they teach me. Young children are so innocent and natural.

*I want the paper to be as not cliche` as possible. Something different and unique. Talk about what NYU can

really offer to me as a student who is seeking education major.

Academic Background: Nassau Community College, been attending for 2 years, Childhood Education Major.
Why I want to apply to NYU: Studying abroad (Shanghai, Abu Dhabi), being in the heart of NY seems so exciting to

me (I’ve been studying for two years in Long Island where it’s not nearly as exciting as Manhattan), the many

more diverse people I will be encountering, and how it will be challenging to keep up my grades with better and

more difficult surroundings and teachings, better environment to challenge myself and keep pushing myself.
Overall information: skills- I learn fast. not educationally but moral wise, and hold realistic views about

everything. I’m not a dreamer, I keep going to reach better and stronger.
Long term goal- learn about how to teach and to keep my self up to date with today’s society so I can teach at

other countries like China or Korea (mostly Asia) English or American Culture. Expand the knowledge I got at NYU

and push others the way I pushed myself from a community college to NYU.
Short term goals- to learn anything and everything.
