Social media can evoke specific emotions in people. Some people can feel happy, sad, mad, or indifferent to Facebook postings, Instagram pictures, Pinterest posts, and Twitter tweets. The following Discussion is directed towards the consumers emotional reactions to a specific social media campaign.

Part 1: Emotional Reactions to Specific Social Media
Respond to the following social media with your emotional reaction. The local humane society posts pictures of abused animals on their Facebook page every day with their stories to try to find potential homes. The stories are sometimes very gruesome and horrible. The pictures show severe neglect and malnourishment.
How does it make you feel and why? Would your emotional response incite you to action? If so, which actions and why?
Is there a better touch point (see the units Learning Activity) where the humane society should contact those potential adopters of their abused animals? Why or why not?
Part 2: Self-Promotion Via Social Media
If you were going to promote yourself for a job via social media, which social media would you use and why? Would you create an audio presentation as well? What would be the advantages or disadvantages? Explain.
Share information with the class about LinkedIn and how it is used versus Instagram. Would you use LinkedIn or Instagram as a promotional tool? Why or why not? If neither, what would you use?
