Discussion Reply Instructions:
Like the peer-review process in psychological science, I would like you to read and evaluate a classmates post by replying to the classmates message with the following:
In 1-2 sentences, explain whether your classmates operational definition is specific and measurable.
In 2-3 sentences, provide other potential operational definitions for the variables in your classmates study.
Here is what you should reply on.
I will like to expand on the study and cause of violent behavior in our society, especially in the younger generations. Could violet behavior in the young be correlated to the extent of social media usage and violence in gaming? Possibly, but obviously we would have to expand on the research. I would like to use the observational method to begin gathering data, although I know only so much can be learned by observing social behavior without any controlled variables, I am sure we could generate great input. Then the study could continue with a sample in a controlled environment where variables could manipulated to gather more quantitative and reliable information. I think that if we manipulate the amount of time and violence (independent variable) each group will be exposed to and then introduce them to a confrontation of some sort with a controlled group to measure the behavior, we could possibly come up with some good data
