Choose primary sources from different cultures and time periods and, using what you know about each sources context (from the lecture videos), write an essay comparing and contrasting the three passages with respect to your chosen theme and considering change and continuity over time. The strongest essays will consider the passages source and author and use each passages historical context (giving at least approximate dates) to explain the reasons for the similarities and differences between the passages with respect to the chosen theme. References are not needed for this paper, which functions as a take-home midterm.
