Week 6 – Assignment: Address Conduct Violations
Previous Next
Instructions
Schools have rules in place for students, and there are also rules in place for student-athletes. The problem is that some schools enforce the rules differently, which can create unfair advantages on the playing surfaces. For example, if one school has a player who cheats on a test and is suspended from a game and another school has a player who cheats on a test and does not get suspended, then you have an issue. Some schools require a certain GPA for a student athlete, whereas another school might have the rules but might not enforce them. This can cause an unfair practice for student-athletes.
The athletic directors from each school in your district are meeting in the summer to discuss the upcoming school sport season. The superintendent wants to get all schools on the same page in regard to rules for student-athletes and wants to have mandated rule infractions for conduct violations consistent across the entire district. Each schools athletic director is to give a presentation for how their individual schools address conduct violations.
Utilizing the Video Note tool in NCUOne, create a video presentation on how you will address conduct violations at your school. Please use the class text, the journal article provided, and at least two other sources which could be examples from other school sites.
