Physics Calculations

The HW is different from what was posted on the original course schedule. Please do the following--

(1) List the 5 most abundant chemical elements (not compounds) (a) in the Earth's crust, and (b) in the human body. (No calculation required; just cite your source.)

(2) (a) Estimate the number of atoms in an ordinary sheet of paper. (b) If all these atoms were lined up in a straight line, like a chain with each atom one "link", would that "chain" reach from the Earth to the Moon, or even further, or not as far? Show rough calculations in support of each answer.

(3) Look up "xkcd radiation chart" (on the internet or from the lecture slide). Write down FOUR facts from it which you think are important - and perhaps surprising - to know.

Alkaline Earth Metals & Chalcogens

Clearly identify each of the groups you are discussing
Compare and contrast the physical properties of the members of the group
Explain the physical properties of the group in terms of atomic structure and attractive forces between the particles
Identify, explain why and discuss how reactivity varies within the group
Identify how, and explain why, reactivity varies as it does within each group
Throughout your discussions of the above characteristics draw pertinent comparisons between the two groups you have chosen to explore.

Microbial Ecology and Microbial Biotechnology/Epidemiology and Public Health

To please answer the follow:

DQ 1

Differentiate between the different types of symbiotic relationships.

DQ 2

Distinguish among sporadic, endemic, epidemic, and pandemic diseases.

To uses"2" references" in APA Format

To please include the book,Burton's Microbiology For the Health Sciences Tenth Edition, Paul G. Engelkirk and Janet Duben-Engelkirk as reference as well.

Earth Sciences

A GallPeters projection as well as a south-up Peters map were featured in the American television show The West Wing (season 2, episode 16), in which the (fictitious) Organization of Cartographers for Social Equality is given access to the White House Press Secretary due to "Big Block of Cheese Day".

Discuss why Dr. John Fallow (actor John Billingsley) promoted the use of this map over Mercator projection?

THE BIOCHEMICAL BASIS OF LIFE/MICROBIAL PHYSIOLOGY AND GENETICS

HI TO PLEASE ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:
DQ 1

NAME AND DESCRIBE THE FOUR MAIN CATEGORIES OF BIOCHEMICAL MOLECULES.

DQ2

BRIEFLY DESCRIBE EACH OF THE FOLLOWING WAYS IN WHICH BACTERIA ACQUIRE GENETIC INFORMATION: LYSOGENIC CONVERSION, TRANSDUCTION, TRANSFORMATION, CONJUGATION

TO PLEASE YOU "4" APA FORMAT REFERENCES
TO PLEASE INCLUDE THE BOOK BURTON'S MICROBIOLOGY FOR THE HEALTH SCIENCES TENTH EDITION BY PAUL G. ENGELKIRK AND JANET DUBEN-ENGELKIRK

Social Geography

I upload the instruction. I also attached the case study topic and feedback from instructor.

You can use potential resources but you also need to use at least 2 from the course materials which I want you to use..
Chapter 13 of "Urban Social Geography" and
"The Geography of Ethnic Residential Segregation: A Comparative Study of Five Countries"  or https://www.pbs.org/video/frontline-poor-kids/

I upload the lecture slide which instruction carefully explain the instruction.

geoflick on natural disaster

Geoflicks are regular theatrical movies that are focused on geologic events, usually some type of disaster.  Some examples are: 2012, Volcano, Dantes Peak, The Core, and Jurassic Park.  This is a web page with a few more ideas: http://reelgeology.blogspot.com/ .  Id prefer you select a move that deals with some kind of geohazards like an earthquake, tsunami, or volcano. The SciFi channel has tons of really good (bad) geoflicks, and you could probably write a novel on one of those.  Most geoflicks take great liberties with the basic science that forms the basis for the plot.  What I hope to see from this assignment is that youve learned enough to recognize where these movies drift from reality and move towards fiction.  This is where you get to show me that you can apply what youve learned in this class.  I also hope this will give you some self-confidence in your understanding of this subject.

Thunderstorms and Tornadoes

This review will be on a documentary video about thunderstorms and tornadoes that you watch at home. I want your personal opinion of the video. Use the knowledge that you have gained from your studies about hurricanes to construct a reasonable critique (pro or con is fine) of the video. Any documentary is fine as long as it is compatible with the theme of thunderstorms and tornadoes and is at least 30 minutes long. Reviews should consist of between 750 and 1000 words. You can watch documentaries on television, Netflix, YouTube, websites, or any other source that you can find. Feel free to be as creative as you like. Reviews will be submitted via the "Assignment" section (formally Dropbox) of BlazeVIEW. Read the movie review guidelines that are posted in the Class Documents section in the Content area in BlazeVIEW. Late reviews will be docked 10 points.

All movie reviews must include the following information at the top of the review:
