Paper on Paper on Islam and Jesus

The research paper: special written assignment, a culminating project for the course. The paper will incorporate the required readings for the course. You may also pursue further research, such as reading from the general bibliography, use of other books approved by the instructor, and interviews with clergy or church historians. You will write an approximately Five page paper. You will integrate your research into Journal entries in the fifth and sixth units of the course. The final research paper is due week 6.
For the most part, Im looking for something involving research. If you demonstrate quality research (not Google or Wikipedia), 3 to 5 pages is plenty.

Coatlicue

Research in the workplace solves a problem. Tasked with a problem in the workplace, you may be asked gather the information necessary to fully understand the issue at hand, solve that problem (or offer potential solutions), prove that your solutions are viable, and/or test your solution(s). Doing this work requires different types of research that go beyond simply querying a library database or using Google. You often will need to speak directly to target populations and audiences, and directly contact resources and experts in different professions and in the community. You also may need information in addition to or instead of scholarly resources. Local and national journalism may add context and perspective. Professional experts, government agencies, state and local authorities all may be relevant sources, as are individuals in target populations. Essentially, research in the workplace requires you to think critically and creativel

Informative and Persuasive Speech Topic

Informative and Persuasive Speech Topic
Please identify the topic you will be working on for your informative speech.  Choose a topic based on a social problem from one of the many facing New York and New Yorkers.  I suggest that you use the same topic for the informative speech that you use for the persuasive to maximize your research and framing time and reduce your workload.  This is an exercise that will help you hone the useful problem solving and critical thinking skills required to transform an informative speech into a persuasive speech.  With that in mind please indicate whether or not you will be using the same topic for both the informative and persuasive speeches.  Finally,  post 2 initial references (at least one academic reference).

Just a note a caution:  it is important to give serious thought to your topic choice and that you try not to change it.  Both the informative and persuasive speeches require quite a lot of work

International Relations

Discussion Topic: We talk about criminal violence as a regional political issue throughout Latin America, but our readings for this week show some ways in which patterns of crime-related violence vary across the region and globally. Under what conditions do you think crime becomes a form of political violence, and how does it change our thinking about these issues (and solutions to them) when we apply that label?

The goal of a research paper is not to inform the reader what others have to say about a topic, but to draw on what others have to say about a topic and engage the sources in order to thoughtfully offer a unique perspective on the issue at hand. This is accomplished through two major types of research papers: Argumentative research paper The argumentative research paper consists of an introduction in which the writer clearly introduces the topic and informs his audience exactly which stance he intends to take; this stance is often identified as the thesis statement .Analytical research paper The analytical research paper often

Latin American Studies: The Idea of Latin America

Before the Western hemisphere was named America or Latin America, the indigenous empires had their own self-designated names such as Anahuac for what is today known as Central Mexico, and Tawatinsuyu for the Andes region of Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador. An Italian cartographer realized that he was sailing along the coast of a continent and named it after himself, America, thus creating the fourth continent known to Europeans.

By the middle of the nineteenth century, citizens of the United States had begun to refer to themselves as Americans and los Americanos who spoke Spanish had begun to refer to themselves as Latin Americans (rather than Americans or Spanish Americans) with encouragement from France.

Talk about the significance of names such as American, Spanish American, Creoles and Latin Americans. Why choose one identity over another? Which countries are traditionally included in the designation Latin American? Why? Which countries are excluded?
