Step #1: Find and examine TWO advertisements that clearly attempt to motivate you to purchase the product being advertised.
The advertisements can be print ads in a newspaper or magazine, or electronic ads you hear on the radio or watch on TV or the Internet.
Step #2: For each advertisement:
- Identify and briefly describe the product being advertised.
- Describe the AUDIENCE for this product; who do you think the advertisement is targeting, and WHY?
- What are some product BENEFITS that the advertisement mentions? (Not features, but BENEFITS)
- Which type(s) of appeals are used in each of the two ads logos, ethos, and/or pathos? Describe the type(s) of appeal and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Finally, how effective do you feel each advertisement is at motivating you to want to buy this product? Explain your response.

Prepare a visualization or infographic that fits on a single page or on a large screen size (1920 X 1080 pixels) that best illustrates the key numerical variables that you think are important for understanding the US-Mexico relationship today. Your research essay should completely address the following information:
Pick a lecture from the Syllabus. Utilize the information provided in the lecture slides--along with your own research--to cover the information from your chosen topic in greater depth. Make sure to use and properly cite at least 2 sources (the lecture slides count as one source). **At least 3 pages.
Type a research essay that is: at least 3 full pages, double-spaced, size 12 font, and follows the grading rubric (see below). Since this essay involves academic research, it is mandatory to include and cite at least 2 sources. Failure to follow these guidelines and the rubric will result in a loss of points.
