Anxiety and Worry in the Age of Permanxiety
Destination safety and security is a destination attribute that is extremely important to travelers. In todays global world, however, negative geopolitical events such as the series of terrorist attacks that took place in London and Paris have become all too frequent occurrences. The impact of these negative events, magnified by todays omnipresent Internet connectivity, has created great anxiety and worry among travelers. A Skift report coined the term Permanxiety to describe this emerging travel worry culture.

Although terrorist attacks and mass shootings would only drive away travelers temporarily, other factors that worry travelers could have a more permanent impact on whether they would travel or where they would travel to. Certain activities that travelers have to engage in, such as going through security and immigration at airports, could cause traveler anxiety.

From the passage below read it and generate your own answer:

In his 1548 edict, King Galawdewos of Ethiopia talks about the illegal slave trade of Christians and the measures to be taken against those who knowingly sold and bought Christians with the intent of taking them out of Ethiopia. These measures included confiscation of the slaves and went even as far as death. The punishment varied for everyone depending on faith and/or ethnicity. Crisis Management in Education

Consider the following scenario:

A principal shared, "We had a threat written on a bathroom wall that said, dont come to school this day, and half of the school didnt show up based on the threats. In the wake of that, people started reporting other things on social media. Things just seemed to spiderweb off of the initial threat and we ended up with kids suspended and expelled. To see the whole process unfold has been eye opening."

Respond to the following questions:

How would you lead the school through this situation?
What information does the superintendent and board need to know?
What should you tell the public?
How can you avoid this turning into a crisis?

1. I would take swift action to ensure that there are no credible threats to our school community first and foremost. After this, I would personally interview every student spreading (mis)information on social media or across the school, and get to the bottom of where
