A truck driver was subjected to a random drug test and tested positive for marijuana use. After a confirmatory test verified the initial result, the driver was terminated. He denied having ever used marijuana. The driver passed a hair follicle test performed by an independent laboratory 84 days after the employer’s urine test. The hair follicle test is aimed at identifying people who persistently use drugs over time. The driver also pointed to problems with the employer’s drug tested procedures. Specifically, the drug test was given by a supervisor despite the availability of nonsupervisory employees, the container had been removed from the sealed kit before the driver arrived to be tested, the driver was not instructed to wash his hands at the proper times, access to the collection site for the specimen was not restricted, and the collection container was not kept in full view of the driver during the time between when the specimen was produced and the container was sealed. As you have learned from your reading, discovery is the process whereby the defense and the prosecution learn about the evidence that the other side will produce at trial. It is regulated by the court rules and case law, and is overseen by the trial judge. Some jurisdictions, most notably the military justice system, have a very open discovery scheme, meaning the prosecutor must give very broad discovery to the defense. In other jurisdictions, the scheme is much more restrictive, and does not require so much openness from the prosecution.
Based on your readings and on your outside research, which do you think is the better approach, and why? Justify your answer, rather than just relying on your own personal philosophy with no support.
By now you should be making progress on your PowerPoint presentation. Please send me an email message informing me of the title of your presentation, the main points in your presentation, and the research sources you will use to add credibility to your ideas. You need a minimum of three sources, and at least one of your sources should be a print source (book, magazine, newspaper).
For an email to have this high of a point value, realize that the grammar, spelling, and the netiquette of the message will be considered. Like the first writing assignment that seemed short or simple, each component of your email message will be very important for you to maximize your score. You will need to include a descriptive subject in the subject line, a salutation to open your message, the body of your message, and a complimentary closing and signature "block."

That is your assignment based on an analysis of what you've read this week and last (Kesey). You need to talk about Kesey and the moderns in unit 10.
1. Don't ramble with generalities - draw specifically on the novel and the poems.
2. Ask and answer the question how writers can best respond to the world we now find ourselves living in based on what you've read.
3. This is open-ended, and that's the intention!! It should give you ample opportunity for reflection, analysis and reaching your own conclusions.
4. There is no right or wrong per se, but you must validate your conclusions with examples from the works with which you're working.

Write the economic analysis section of a business proposal. This will include statements about the market structure and the elasticity of demand for the good or service, based on text book principles. You need to create hypothetical data, based on similar real world products to estimate fixed and variable costs.
Required Elements:
Identify market structure
Identify elasticity of the product
Include rationale for the following questions:
How will pricing relate to elasticity of your product?
How will changes in the quantity supplied as a result of your pricing decisions affect marginal cost and marginal revenue?
Besides your pricing decisions, what are your suggested nonpricing strategies? What nonpricing strategies will you use to increase barriers to entry?
How could changes in your business operations alter the mix of fixed and variable costs in line with your strategy?
