The whites have been seen to be superior as compared to the blacks and Hispanics in education.
The latter have lagged behind in almost all fields including education. However, changing
times have led to the enactment of laws that try to narrow the gap between the parties
involved. ‘No Child has been left behind Act’ is one of the many acts that has been put in
place to uplift the blacks and Hispanics standards of education to much those of their white
counter parts. Nevertheless, critics to the act feel that the act has made little or no
progress in achieving its mandate ( Jesse Hahnel). These sentiments have been echoed by the
National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP) with its 2008 statistical findings. The act

Preparing for Technology Integration Guide
After reviewing the NETS*S standards and profiles for the grade level you teach
open the PDF file - NETS-S_2007_Student_Profiles.
Find the specific NETS*S profiles that address the standards for the grade level you are
teaching. Each indicator is followed by numbers within parentheses. These numbers are the
standards that the indicators address. According to the student profiles, what types of
activities need to be integrated in your teaching for students to meet technology related
standards?
After you examine the student technology standards, you are responsible for writing a two (2)
page reflection paper on the following areas:

According to Spring, "American civil society was traditionally organized around the
religious principles of community service and a competitive marketplace of self-interested
groups" (2011, p. 113). Involvement in public education has always been an important
aspect of community service, and there has never been a lack of self-interested groups that
include education goals in their charters. The question is whether the involvement of these
groups advances or impedes positive change in education.
To prepare for the Discussion, review the readings, multimedia links, and websites of
groups and associations included in the media to inform your understanding of their roles
and missions.
By Day 7 of Week 5:
Post your response to the following question:
