• Research the term, theory from online sources, noting, in particular, discussions about scientific theory and the characteristics and purpose of scientific theories. Note: Not all sources you find online are authoritative sources. However, you can use what you find as a starting point for learning more about the nature of theories.

• (Attached) Read Stockdale’s 1979 article, “An Essay on Levels of Abstraction.”

PART 1 (1pg) – Conduct a search for one theoretical article and one research article, ideally related to either your inquiry topic or more broadly to an area within your specialization. • Based on your developing understanding of the philosophic approaches (objectivism, constructionism, and subjectivism) analyze each article and determine which approach influenced the author’s work in the two articles you found.
• For the research articles you found this week, which of Arbnor and Bjerke’s (1997) six social science paradigms most closely aligns with the way the author viewed the phenomenon being studied?
