What characteristics or musical materials are indicative of the era and form? What do you hear (or not hear) in the music that tells you the piece is not from the Baroque era?
Choose one other piece (from the second half of the program) and answer the same questions as above.
You may choose to focus on one particular movement or section of a piece, however, you should discuss (albeit briefly) all movements and how they relate to each other.

Conclude your assignment with a brief paragraph indicating your personal assessment of the music presented in this concert e.g., did you enjoy these pieces, do you have a preference for other styles of music, would you be interested in hearing more, or does this style of music not inspire you? Focus on the music only. This assignment will require some research prior to the concert. You should read the relevant chapters from The Enjoyment of Music 11th Edition, and other articles (library or online) describing the nature of Baroque, Classical and Romantic music.
